CVSD benefits from a number of federal grants to support our system. A key factor for some of these grants is the desire and need to engage students, families, and community members in decisions about how to best use these funds to support our students. This provides information and opportunities to provide input or ask questions.
Consolidated Federal Program (CFP)
Purpose: Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015, is to provide all children significant opportunities to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.
CFP has four Title grants, listed below.
Purpose: ESSER funds are intended to “prepare for, prevent, and respond” to COVID-19. The US Department of Education states that these funds are intended, “to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the nation’s students,” with a specific emphasis on meeting the needs of underserved student groups and those most significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
