• jen  Jen Roth,  Lead Principal

    Jen Roth is the Charlotte Central School Principal and grade 5-8 Instructional Leader. She has lived most of her life in three states- Illinois, Wisconsin and Vermont.  She received her BA from Trinity College of Vermont, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University and her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Saint Michael’s College. She has taught twenty two years in grades Pre-K through high school Special Education and loves staying hands-on in classrooms at CCS.  Watching curious learners make new discoveries or share their understanding with others, inspires Jen.  This summer, Jen began her next chapter of learning in the Vermont Leadership Institute through the Snelling Center for Government. As a mother of four children, life stays busy! She fills her time reading, playing in the garden, spending time on the lake and traveling with family and friends.

  • Tim OLeary Tim O'Leary, Assistant Principal

    Tim O’Leary is the Assistant Principal at Charlotte Central School, joining the school community in his first year and his seventh year in the Champlain Valley School District. Throughout his time in CVSD, Tim has supported digital learning, curriculum development, instructional coaching, and played a key role in establishing the Virtual Learning Academy. He served as the middle-level principal of the Academy during the 2020-2021 school year, a pivotal part of CVSD’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before his work in CVSD, Tim was a high school teacher and special educator, bringing a wealth of experience from the classroom to his leadership roles. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont and a Master of Arts degree from Middlebury College. Beyond his work in schools, Tim directs a program at Middlebury College that empowers middle and high school students nationwide to create documentary films on socially relevant topics. Passionate about inspiring student engagement and fostering a love for learning, Tim enjoys the unique opportunity to work across all nine grade levels at CCS.

     
  • beth slater   Beth Slater, CCS Director of Special Education

    Beth is the Special Education Director as well as a Special Educator at Charlotte Central School this year. She is starting her 21st year in education and 7th year in CVSD. Prior to that, she worked in Grand Isle for 14 years.  Beth received her undergraduate degree from Keene State in NH.  She received her master's in Special Education from the College of Saint Josephs and completed advanced graduate studies through Saint Michael’s College. She holds a Special Ed endorsement for ages K-21 and Director of Special Education and Principal endorsements. Beth lives in South Burlington with her partner and two children. When Beth is not working, she can most likely be found biking, hiking, skiing, playing pickleball, and reading.
