 Angela Arsenault

  Q: Tell us a bit about your professional experience.

  I've been a freelance writer and journalist for more than 20 years and have covered a variety of interest areas – from celebrity profiles to parenting and gender issues. I am also a State Representative serving on the Judiciary Committee. 

  Q: Why do you serve on the school board?

  I serve on the school board because I believe in the importance of representative democracy and bringing all voices to the conversation. This is particularly true in the education realm. 

Q: What brings you joy?

Dancing with my kids; gathering with my family; the rebirth of spring

Q: Tell us about your family. 

I live with my husband, two kids, and one very smart dog. I’m exceedingly fortunate to have many family members, including my parents, my three siblings, nieces and nephews, in-laws, and others close-by in Vermont. I also have a beautiful “framily” of friends and kids growing and learning together as we navigate life, parenthood, childhood, and becoming who we are.

Lindsay Colf

 Q: Tell us a bit about your professional experience.

 I taught middle school language arts and high school English in traditional and alternative public schools for over a decade in Northern Virginia before moving to Vermont, my forever home.

 Q: Why do you serve on the school board?

 Proudly representing Vermont's smallest town, I serve on the school board, tutor, and mentor to stay current and involved in education until I return to the classroom and/or achieve my dream of opening a local teen center focused on academics, creativity, and wellness. 

Q: What brings you joy?

Road tripping to visit cousins and friends, boating and listening to music with my parents, and camping and sitting fireside with my family and neighbors 

Q: Tell us about your family. 

Joel and I have two kids in Williston schools and two Siamese cats. Our close friend Chomp the Dragon (Champ's cousin) is the St. George mascot. 

 Dave Connery 

 Q: Tell us a bit about your professional experience.

 I am a graduate of UVM’s School of Engineering, and currently work as a helmet design engineer for Burton.

 Q: Why do you serve on the school board?

 I’ve returned to the school board after a three year break, having previously served for eight years on the board.

Q: What brings you joy?

Riding bikes, refereeing ice hockey, and hiking with JJ.

Q: Tell us about your family. 

I live in Shelburne with my wife, our two kids who both attend CVU, and our Boston Terrier, JJ Abrams.

Erin Henderson

Q: Tell us a bit about your professional experience.

I’m the Organizational and Workforce Development Director for DCF (Department for Children and Families). I plan, organize, and support employee development programs such as training and recognition, and work closely with HR to support employees. 

Previously, I worked for 15 years as a high school English teacher in New Hampshire, Singapore, and California. 

Q: Why do you serve on the school board?

I have professional experience with education and the personal experience of my children having gone through the CVSD system. I am proud of our district and would like to help support its continued success.

Q: What brings you joy?

Warm weather, sunshine, spending time with my family, being outdoors, running, walking, hiking, and traveling.

Q: Tell us about your family. 

I have three children – two boys who have graduated from CVU and a daughter who is currently a sophomore. My husband and I moved our family back to Vermont 10 years ago, after spending 15 years in California. My parents and sister still live in Addison County, where I grew up.

Erika Lea 

Q: Tell us a bit about your professional experience.

I am currently the Coordinator of First Year Transitions & Wellbeing Initiatives at Champlain College. Prior to working at Champlain, I was the Director of Counseling at a boarding school in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. I also directed a large summer youth employment program for 14-24 year-olds in Sunset Park, Brooklyn for 8 years.

Q: Why do you serve on the school board? 

I care deeply about the well-being of families and children and believe that schools and classrooms are foundational elements in a healthy community. 

Q: What brings you joy? 

The outdoors, watching our pets be hilarious, family laughter, good books, and good friends. 

Q: Tell us about your family: 

I live with my husband, three kids, two dogs, one rabbit, and a handful of fish and chickens. 

Meghan Siket 

 Q: Tell us a bit about your professional experience.

 I have served for the past five years as Associate General Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel at the University of Vermont. Before that, I was a partner in a law firm in Providence, RI. My areas of focus are labor and employment law, education law, and litigation.

 Q: Why do you serve on the school board?

 My family has had a positive experience at CCS since we moved here in 2018, and my goal as a School Board member is to help ensure that all families, as well as educators and staff, continue to have a positive experience in our public schools!

Q: What brings you joy?

Hiking, downhill and XC skiing

Q: Tell us about your family. 

My husband is an ER doctor at UVM Medical Center. We have two school-aged kids, two dogs, seven hens, and a hamster.

 Dr. Cassandra Townshend

 Q: Tell us a bit about your professional experience.

  I am the Co-Director of Building Effective Supports for Teaching (BEST) and VT Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (VTPBIS) Project at the University of Vermont. Before joining UVM, I worked in various roles in education,   including an elementary/middle school paraeducator, high school social worker, behavior specialist, outpatient adolescent clinician, director of special education (Charlotte Central School), and director of behavior systems (CVSD).

 Q: What brings you joy?

 I enjoy juggling the busy schedules of my kids who attend HCS, talking about education with my husband (a teacher at a local career and technical education high school), coaching and serving as a board member of the Iroquois Soccer Club, and hiking in the Hinesburg Town Forest with my family, and fun-loving yellow lab, Cheddar.

Sarah Showalter-Feuillette

 Q: Tell us a bit about your professional experience.

 Most recently I've been full-time mothering my two kids in the Williston school system. Previously, I worked as both a music teacher for more than 20 years in multiple states as well as in the wellness field. I hold a master's degree in Integrative Health and look forward to working on how the different schools and systems within CVSD can work better as a unified whole while also retaining individuation and fitting the needs of varied populations.

 Q: Why do you serve on the school board?

 As a volunteer in the classroom, the 4 winds program, and as a mentor I see the importance of and need for communication and involvement from both the top-down and from the bottom-up. I hope to find solutions to streamline communication in all directions during my time on the board. 

Q: What brings you joy?

Time outside in nature with my family, reading, swing dancing, yoga, board games, and healthy habits.

Q: Tell us about your family. 

My husband, two kids, my father, and I all moved to VT three years ago. Every single one of us absolutely loves VT and we are committed to being both stewards of the earth here and active, contributing community members.
